    Join Amy Hilgendorf from the Friends of Freedom Inc for a facilitated conversation around fundraising from a perspective of redistribution of wealth and reparations.

    What does it mean to look at fundraising from this perspective? Why are people calling for it? What would it look like to build a culture around reparations?

    This lunchtime conversation will focus on understanding our position within wealth inequality and the racial wealth gap in the US, especially for those of us who have benefited from white privilege. This will be a time to talk about the complex ways these dynamics have influenced us, our families, our communities, and our fundraising.

    Effective Storytelling from a Social Justice Perspective

    Join Genia Stevens for a special training helping folks who work at social justice and advocacy nonprofits. Traditional storytelling trainings do not always feel relevant when your work is focused on systems-change. 

    During this training, Genia will discuss:

    • Telling a story from the perspective of a social justice/advocacy perspective
    • Telling the story of your work in the most effective way, especially in the context of fundraising
    • Telling the story of your work in an authentic way when your work feels very behind-the-scenes.


    Genia is a digital marketer, Forbes columnist, nonprofit consultant, and talk radio host. She is owner and managing partner of Belwah Media, an award-winning integrated digital marketing agency with offices in Madison, WI and Chicago, IL.
