“When I dare to be powerful - to use my strength in the service of my vision - then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” - Audre Lorde

Therapy: Strong in the Broken Places

I believe that we all get stuck sometimes. We find ourselves in difficult situations and we don’t know what to do. Other times we feel trapped by our painful pasts. At times, we aren’t sure what the problem is, but we sense there must be more to life.

Whatever the reason that brings you to therapy, we can work together to uncover and resolve what’s happening, clarify what matters most and help you to feel stronger and freer to live more fully.

For therapy to help, we need to bring laughter, creativity and play as much as we need to hold space for tears and pain. As a therapist, it’s important to me that you trust that together we can care for the places you struggle without losing touch with your strengths and your vision.

I have over 25 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, teens/parents heal and create lasting change. My therapy practice is grounded in relational theory and weaves in Nonviolent Communication (NVC), mindfulness-based theories including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as somatic practices. Areas of specialization include:

  • Anxiety/Trauma

  • Relationship Issues

  • Body/Eating/Wellness

  • Work/Life Balance

  • BIPOC/Identity

  • Adoption/Transracial Adoption

I enjoy working with health practitioners and healers including therapists, social/political activists and change makers, creative artists and people involved in somatic practices/dance, people with midlife dilemmas, and high-achieving/overworked professionals.
